Brief history of Kohila Paper Factory

1883  Local landlord opens a sawmill in Kohila.
1903  Groundwood, paper production and paper converting initiated.
1992  UPM and Kohila Paberivabrik create a joint venture to manufacture envelopes and Swedish binders.
1998  Norwegian Lindegaard ASA takes over Walki Paberisto and Kohila Paberivabrik.
1999  Manufacturing of lever arch files, ringbinders, dividers, pockets and flat files started.
2003  Smead Manufacturing Company purchases stationery business of Lindegaard ASA.
2008  MBO at Smead Europe, company renamed to Atlanta Office Products.
2009  Charlot OÜ, the largest stationery wholesaler in the Baltics, registers a subsidiary KP Factory OÜ.
2009  KP Factory OÜ rents all assets of Atlanta Office Products located in Kohila.
2010  KP Factory purchases the rented assets.
2021  KP Factory acquires Prindi.me OÜ and launches a digital and advertising printing department.
2024  We extensively upgrade the equipment in the digital printing department.
2025  The digital printing department launches a new 3.2m wide format UV printing machine.
